The Stated Meeting of the Presbytery will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Albuquerque, starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 24th, and ending around 4:00 p.m.
Absences. Excuses for Ministers, Commissioned Ruling Elders and Certified Christian Educators must be sent to the Stated Clerk or Associate Stated Clerk before the meeting. Elder commissioners who are unable to attend are encouraged to pass their information on to the alternate commissioner(s) from their congregation. New Business. Any new business brought to this meeting, but not on the approved docket, must be “submitted to the Stated Clerk, in writing, no later than 11:45 a.m. of the day of the meeting.
Any proposed new business will be referred to the New Business Committee for consideration. Consent Agenda. The Consent Agenda will be made available on the presbytery website prior to the meeting and will also be available at registration. If you wish to pull any items from the Consent Agenda, please let the Stated Clerk know prior to the start of the Presbytery Meeting at 9:30 a.m.
Meeting Highlights
We will explore privilege and what that means in our world. Please note that non-commissioners are welcome to attend the unveiling of the Belhar Confession banner at 10:00 a.m. and the presentation by Judge Wendell Griffen on privilege at 10:15 until noon.
We will worship together.
We will install our moderator-elect and commission our General Assembly commissioners.
A new Belhar banner and hymn will be unveiled.
We will hear faith journeys from new pastors.
We will recognize the service of two of our pastors who are retiring.
We will consider concurrence with overture(s) from other councils to the 2018 General Assembly.
We will consider a new Memorandum of Understanding with Lutheran Advocacy Ministries New Mexico.
And as always, we will be praying together and sharing our joys, hopes and concerns.
